Srinagar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K has filed a charge-sheet in FIR No. 55/2022 under Sections 420, 120-B, 201 RPC before the Hon’ble Court of Sub Judge Small Causes, Srinagar, against four accused persons for their involvement in a cheating case.
The accused are: (1) Arshid Ahmad Shora @Bilal, S/o Late Abdul Rashid Shora, R/o Pakhribal Botakadal, Lalbazar, Srinagar; (2) Firdous Ahmad Mir, S/o Abdul Rehman Mir, R/o Abikarpora, Rainawari, A/P Madina Colony, Near R.P. School, Mallabagh, Srinagar; (3) Firdous Ahmad Bhat, S/o Mohammad Afzal Bhat, R/o Amda Kadal, Lalbazar, Srinagar; and (4) Aftab Ahmad Shah, S/o Parvaiz Ahmad Shah, R/o Khawabazar, Nowhatta, Srinagar, the EOW said in a statement issued here.
The investigation pertains to a complaint alleging that the accused, led by Arshid Ahmad Shora @Bilal, induced the complainant to supply shawls worth over Rs. 2.50 crore on the promise of profitable returns but failed to make payment. During the investigation, 338 shawls valued at about Rs. 68 lakh were recovered and handed over to the complainant under the directions of the Hon’ble Court. The investigation has been completed and the chargesheet has been filed in the Court of law.
