SKUAST-K conducts workshop on data visualisation

SRINAGAR: To promote data-driven learning and analytical skills, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) organised a two-day hands-on workshop on “Stories with Power BI: Visualise, Analyse and Inspire” at Shalimar campus.
The two-day workshop, organized by the SKUAST-K’s Division of Agricultural Statistics, Faculty of Horticulture, brought together students, research scholars, and faculty members for intensive training in modern business intelligence and data visualisation tools, reflecting the growing importance of analytics in research, governance, and professional decision-making.
The inaugural session was attended by Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, along with senior university officers and faculty members. In his presidential address, Prof Ganai underscored the importance of skill-based training programs in data science, artificial intelligence, and business analytics to enhance employability and research excellence.
Around 30 participants took part in the workshop and received practical exposure to Power BI applications, including data import and transformation, Power Query, DAX fundamentals, dashboard creation, report generation, and interactive data visualisation techniques.
Participants were trained to convert raw datasets into meaningful visual insights and dynamic dashboards, enabling them to better understand the role of business intelligence tools in evidence-based planning and decision-making.
