BANDIPORA: Continuing its efforts to provide meaningful learning and mentorship opportunities to the youth, the District Administration Bandipora today organised the second episode of Nun Chai Talks, featuring an interactive career counselling and motivational session by Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad Mir, Senior Geologist at the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Bengaluru, and a proud son of the soil of Bandipora.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various educational institutions across the district. The programme focused on career planning, goal setting, time management and exploring the diverse opportunities available to today’s youth.
During the interaction, Dr. Ishfaq shared his personal journey from Bandipora to serving in one of the country’s premier scientific institutions, inspiring students to pursue excellence through hard work, perseverance and continuous learning. He offered valuable insights on career building, academic growth and informed decision-making, while encouraging students to dream big and remain committed to their aspirations.
The speakers also stressed the importance of effective time management, particularly in an era marked by extensive social media consumption. They emphasised that while technology and social media have become indispensable tools in modern life, students must use them responsibly and remain focused on their educational and career goals.
Speaking on the occasion, District Information Officer Bandipora, Aadil Manzoor Wani, said that every technology is a tool whose impact depends on how it is used. He observed that the thoughtful and positive use of technology can contribute significantly to personal growth and career advancement, whereas its misuse can adversely affect an individual’s progress and well-being. He also stressed the importance of discipline, consistency and self-belief in achieving one’s goals.
A lively question-and-answer session was held during which students raised various queries relating to career choices, academic pursuits, time management and the challenges posed by excessive social media use. The speakers responded in detail, providing practical guidance and motivation to the participants.
The enthusiasm, curiosity and thoughtful participation displayed by the students reflected the immense potential of the district’s young generation. The session helped participants gain greater clarity about their future aspirations and inspired them to pursue their goals with confidence and determination.
Speaking at the conclusion of the programme, BDO Aloosa and Nodal Officer for Waqar Knowledge Centre, Ulfat Ali, expressed gratitude to Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad Mir for sparing his valuable time and sharing his rich professional experience with the students. She also thanked the participating students, teachers and other stakeholders for their active involvement in making the programme a success.
The District Administration reiterated that Nun Chai Talks will continue to serve as a platform for accomplished personalities to engage with and inspire the community through meaningful dialogue, while providing youth with opportunities to learn, grow and make informed choices about their future.
