SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Sunday extended warm greetings to the people on the annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanwi Naqshbandi (RA) being observed at the revered shrine at Baba Nagri Wangath, Kangan.
In his message, Dr. Farooq said that Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanwi (RA) occupies a distinguished place in the spiritual and cultural history of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the saint’s teachings of compassion, religious tolerance, humility, brotherhood and devotion to Almighty Allah continue to guide people towards the path of righteousness and harmony.
“On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people and pray that the Urs Mubarak ushers in an era of lasting peace, communal harmony, prosperity and progress in Jammu and Kashmir. The teachings of Baba Ji remain as relevant today as ever and inspire us to strengthen the bonds of mutual respect and coexistence,” Dr. Farooq said.
CM Omar Abdullah, in his message said that the annual Urs serves as a reminder of the enduring spiritual legacy of the great Sufi saint, whose message transcended all divisions and brought people together in a spirit of love, tolerance and universal brotherhood.
“The Urs Mubarak reunites devotees from different walks of life and reinforces the values of social harmony and inclusiveness that have been the hallmark of Kashmir’s rich spiritual tradition. I pray that this blessed occasion becomes a harbinger of peace, prosperity and wellbeing for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
