Srinagar: A woman was detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for her alleged involvement in anti-national activities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Saturday.
In a move to uphold public order and security, police in Baramulla executed a detention warrant under the PSA against Haseena Begum, a resident of Sheeri, who was involved in multiple cases linked to unlawful and anti-national activities, an officer said.
He said the detention was carried out following an order issued by the district magistrate based on her involvement in several criminal cases registered across different districts.
Acting on the warrant, police took the detenue into preventive custody and lodged her in District Jail Bhaderwah, he added.
