Srinagar: In an ongoing effort to dismantle the terror network and curb anti-national activities, Sopore Police have attached immovable property linked to a proclaimed offender involved in a militancy case. The action is part of a broader crackdown targeting militant handlers, absconders, and their support structures in the region.
The property, consisting of land measuring 2 Kanals at Lashdaej Nadihal, was attached in connection with FIR No. 02/2008 registered at Police Station Panzalla under Section 2/3 of the E&IMCO Act. The proclaimed offender, Rasid-ud-Din Qureshi, son of Abdul Kabir Qureshi and resident of Nadihal Rafiabad, has been evading legal proceedings for a prolonged period, a police spokesperson said.
“Investigations revealed that Qureshi had illegally crossed into Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) to receive arms and ammunition training and is directly linked with the banned terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. He is currently operating in coordination with Hizbul Mujahideen from Pakistan, actively supporting terror activities in the region,” he said.
The attachment was executed in collaboration with the Revenue Department, following verification through revenue records and local inquiries. The process was carried out transparently in the presence of revenue officials and independent witnesses, in accordance with all legal formalities.
“This is the third such property attachment by Sopore Police within the last three days, reflecting the intensified efforts to target terror facilitators and dismantle the terror ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir,” the spokesperson said. “These actions are part of the police’s continuous strategy to disrupt terror networks, choke support systems, and ensure strict legal action against individuals involved in activities threatening national security.”
He added, “J&K Police reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to take lawful and stringent action against all individuals involved in terrorism, terror funding, harboring terrorists, or supporting terrorist organizations in any capacity, to maintain peace and security in the region.”
