Political Victimisation? Waheed Para Flags Dropping of Pulwama AMRUT Project

Seeks CM Omar Abdullah’s intervention

Pulwama: Senior PDP leader and MLA Pulwama Waheed Ur Rehman Para on Saturday raised serious concerns over the exclusion of Pulwama town’s drinking water supply scheme from the AMRUT 2.0 plan despite the project having already received approval and release of initial funds.
In a post on X, Para said that a proposal worth ₹18 crore under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme for augmentation of drinking water supply in Pulwama town had been approved and the first installment was also released last year. He, however, expressed concern that the project has now allegedly been dropped from the plan despite the Detailed Project Report (DPR) having already been submitted to the Housing and Urban Development Department.
Calling the development “deeply concerning,” Para urged Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also holds the Housing portfolio, to personally intervene in the matter and ensure that the Pulwama proposal is restored and considered during the current year.
He alleged that the project should not be allowed to become a “victim of political victimisation” and said the people of Pulwama deserve equal attention and developmental support.
“The people of Pulwama have suffered immensely over the years and deserve dignity, attention and inclusive development to help heal long-standing wounds,” Para stated in his post.
