J&K holds potential for dynamic, prosperous future: LG Sinha

Must read

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said the Union territory holds potential for a dynamic and flourishing future, growing into a vibrant centre of culture and advancement through steady progress.
“Achieving this vision ultimately depends on the younger generation. I sincerely hope that our youth will draw strength from the wisdom passed down by our ancestors and work with determination to posit Jammu and Kashmir among the country’s developed regions,” the L-G said.
Speaking at Navreh celebrations organised by the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha in Jammu, Sinha invoked the blessings of Maa Sharika (Goddess Shakti) for the health, prosperity, and well-being of all.
Interacting with devotees, the L-G wished that the Hindu new year usher a radiant dawn, illuminating paths to renewed hope and a thriving future.
“In worshipping Maa Durga and Maa Sharika, we bow to the primal source of power from which universe sprung. As Rigveda says, the mother’s strength is infinite. The true seeker who worships her with sincerity attains the essence of reality, and profound insight on life,” he said.
L-G Sinha shared his belief that Navreh and Navratri mark an inward journey. “Over nine days of fasting, prayer, and discipline, Navratri transforms the devotee from within.”
He highlighted that our traditions outline four stages of devotion — attentively listening to prayer, contemplating it, internalising it, and reaching ‘samadhi’ (resolution), where knowledge and the seeker merge into one. “I pray that all devotees experience these stages in life,” he said.
The L-G also encouraged the youth to build a strong and lasting connection with the timeless traditions, and rich spiritual heritage and wisdom of the region.
“Youth will not merely inherit India’s legacy but reshape it and propel it toward a developed, sustainable tomorrow,” he said.
