NEW DELHI: India on Thursday highlighted Islamabad’s track record of “clandestine” nuclear proliferation after a US report flagged new risks regarding Islamabad’s nuclear payload and missile programmes.

New Delhi’s remarks followed the US intelligence report that named Pakistan as one of the few nations developing advanced missile systems capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional payloads.

“As far as Pakistan is concerned, they’ve had a history of clandestine nuclear proliferation,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at his weekly media briefing.
