Urges strengthening grassroots connect in J&K

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar Tuesday chaired a meeting of party functionaries at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha to review organisational affairs and outreach initiatives.

During the meeting, Sagar emphasized the vital role of party office bearers as a link between the leadership and the people. He also reviewed the functioning of all party wings and ongoing public contact programs, urging them to engage actively with the public, address concerns, and ensure effective communication of grievances to the leadership.

He stressed that strengthening grassroots connections is essential for responsive governance and called upon workers to intensify outreach across Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Kashmir, Showkat Ahmad Mir, expressed deep sorrow on the passing of Syed Afaq, former Deputy Director Prosecution, J&K.

Remembered for his wit, wisdom, and dedication to public service, Syed Afaq’s untimely demise is a great loss to the legal community and all who knew him personally.

“His departure is deeply mourned. May Almighty Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah,” Mir said, extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues during this time of grief.
