Baramulla: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG), North Kashmir, on Tuesday issued a public advisory urging people to maintain peace and express their sentiments strictly within the bounds of law.
In a post on X, the DIG said that in view of the prevailing situation, all expressions of grief should remain peaceful and lawful, and public cooperation was necessary to ensure safety and normalcy.
The advisory asked citizens to refrain from blocking roads or highways, disrupting public services, interfering with routine civic life or indulging in any activity that could lead to public disorder.
“The administration will facilitate lawful avenues for expressing sentiments. Any disruption to public order will be dealt with in accordance with law,” the advisory said.
The DIG further appealed to the public to extend cooperation to the authorities during the sensitive period, stating that such support was vital for maintaining harmony and public order across North Kashmir.
