Kishtwar: A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Wednesday during an ongoing search operation, officials said.
An official said that encounter began in the Bichaar locality after security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation based on intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
Reinforcements have been rushed to the spot to tighten the cordon, and the operation was underway when last reports came in.
