Hajin: As fresh snowfall continues to disrupt normal life across north Kashmir, the subdivision administration in Sonawari has intensified snow clearance operations to ensure smooth movement and restoration of essential services.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sumbal Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh told Kashmir Kashmir Reader that snow clearance machines have been deployed across Hajin Sumbal and adjoing areas to clear main roads, while manual teams are working simultaneously to clear inner lanes and by-lanes.
He said snow clearance is being carried out in a phased manner, with priority being given to vital roads, particularly those leading to hospitals, health centres and other essential facilities. “Our ground staff has been working since early morning despite harsh weather conditions to ensure accessibility in all areas,” the SDM said.
He appealed to residents to cooperate with the administration and avoid unnecessary travel until road clearance operations are fully completed.
