Known for his calm demeanour, respect for citizens, and zero-pending files, Hajin’s Block Development Officer shows what happens when responsibility is worn lightly and executed diligently

In public life, it is rare to come across officers who combine authority with humility, power with patience, and responsibility with compassion. Fayaz Ahmad (KAS), the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Hajin, is one such officer whose conduct speaks louder than his designation.
From the very first interaction, what stands out about Fayaz Ahmad is his sober demeanour and calm personality. Despite holding an important administrative post, he carries himself with remarkable simplicity. There is no trace of arrogance or unnecessary formality in his behaviour. He interacts with people as an ordinary man, making everyone—irrespective of status or background—feel comfortable and heard.
One of his most admirable qualities is the patience with which he listens to public grievances. People visiting his office often leave satisfied, not merely because their issues are addressed, but because they are heard with respect. He never rushes through conversations, nor does he dismiss concerns lightly. This approach has built trust between the administration and the people at the grassroots level.
Another defining feature of his tenure as BDO Hajin is his commitment to work. Fayaz Ahmad believes in timely execution and ensures that no developmental work remains pending from his end. Files do not gather dust in his office, and excuses find no place in his functioning. Since assuming charge, he has remained constantly on his toes, monitoring development works across villages and ensuring that projects move forward without unnecessary delays.
What truly sets him apart is his indifference to power. He hardly cares about the post he holds; instead, he focuses on the responsibility it carries. His gentle manner of speaking, normal behaviour, and dedication to public service reflect a mindset rooted in service rather than authority.
People often complain about administrative apathy; officers like Fayaz Ahmad (KAS) restore faith in governance. His work ethic, humility, and people-friendly approach make him not just a good officer but a respected one.
