Bus driver’s license cancelled for rash driving in Bandipora

Bandipora: Acting on a video circulating on social media showing alleged rash and negligent driving, the Traffic Rural Kashmir on Wednesday intercepted a bus in Bandipora and initiated strict action against the driver, officials said.

A Special Enforcement Team of Traffic Rural Kashmir, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Traffic Ganderbal-Bandipora Gulzar Ahmad, along with officials of Traffic Rural Bandipora, intercepted the vehicle driven by Manzoor Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ahsan of Saderkote Payeen, Bandipora.
Officials said the video showed the driver indulging in extreme rash and negligent driving, prompting immediate intervention. The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) concerned challaned the vehicle, while the driving licence of the driver was also cancelled.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh, has directed his teams to deal with such cases strictly as per laid-down norms, officials said.
They added that Traffic Rural Kashmir has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards rash and negligent driving and has already constituted special enforcement teams across its jurisdiction to curb such violations.
