SRINAGAR: Police in Awantipora organised Cybercrime Awareness Programmes in Tral and Awantipora, to educate the general public, especially students, about cyber threats and safe online practices.
In Awantipora, the programme was organised under the supervision of SHO Police Station Awantipora, Inspector Ajaz Hmad. Similarly, in Tral, a cyber awareness programme was conducted under the leadership of SHO Police Station Tral, Inspector Abdul Rashid, police said in a statement.
During cyber awareness programmes participants were sensitised about cyber frauds, online safety, and responsible use of social media platforms.
“Officers advised participants to avoid sharing OTPs, passwords, or bank details, remain cautious during online financial transactions, and refrain from interacting with unknown persons on social media,” the statement said. “Emphasis was also laid on secure browsing habits and reporting cyber incidents promptly.”
