SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) has successfully concluded the fourth batch of Management Development Programs (MDPs) across Samba, Rajouri, and Doda districts under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme. The initiative is funded by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, and implemented by the Industries & Commerce Department, J&K.
The programs, conducted from December 4 to 9, 2025, provided 30 hours of intensive training to 59 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, of whom an impressive 57 were women. This significant participation marks a promising shift toward enhanced gender inclusion in the UT’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The six-day training included classroom sessions, sector-specific lectures, hands-on workshops, expert interactions, and field visits to successful business ventures. Participants were equipped with essential managerial, financial, and strategic skills to help them scale operations, improve competitiveness, and build sustainable enterprises.
Designed by subject matter experts, the MDP curriculum covered a broad range of topics such as business planning, marketing, digital tools, financial literacy, compliance, leadership, and innovation. Officers from District Industries Centres (DICs) and the Labour & Employment Department also shared valuable insights during interactive sessions. Field visits of the trainees to the successful business ventures were also organised during the programs to provide them real-time business exposure. The MPDs were constantly monitored by the designated Range/Reviewing Officers who interacted with the participants periodically for their feedback about the training being imparted.
The successful completion of the programs reflects JKEDI’s ongoing commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs with practical knowledge and sector-specific expertise, thereby strengthening the MSME landscape of Jammu & Kashmir. Continuous monitoring by designated Range/Reviewing Officers ensured quality delivery and regular feedback from participants.
Meanwhile, JKEDI also commenced the fourth batch of MDPs at its District Centre Poonch, where 21 registered candidates will undergo six days of structured training under the RAMP scheme.
