NEW DELHI: IndiGo cancelled over 650 flights across major airports on Sunday as disruptions in the airline’s services continued. IndiGo’s flight cancellations hit airports in Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad the hardest, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport saw 115 cancellations, including 54 arrivals and 61 departures. At Delhi Airport, 109 IndiGo flights — 59 departures and 50 arrivals — were cancelled.

Kolkata recorded 76 IndiGo flight cancellations, including 53 departures and 23 arrivals.

IndiGo says operations expected to stabilise by December 10

Meanwhile, IndiGo has revised its stabilisation outlook, stating that its services are likely to stabilize by December 10. Earlier, the airline had given a timeline between December 10 and 15 for operations to return to normal.

In a statement, an IndiGo spokesperson said that flight cancellations have reduced, and on-time performance has improved to 75 per cent from 30 per cent on Saturday. As per the statement, IndiGo has been implementing “further significant and sustained improvements” across its network since Saturday and confirmed it is operating over 1,650 flights today, up from around 1,500 yesterday.

“Following the recent operational disruptions, IndiGo confirms that we are establishing further significant and sustained improvements across our network. The first step to this was taken yesterday; today next steps have been taken on this with fewer cancellations and a higher On Time Performance,” the statement read.
