SKUAST-K hosts specially-abled students in inclusion drive

SRINAGAR: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir (SKUAST-K), on Tuesday hosted a visit by a group of specially-abled students from Voluntary Medicare Society accompanied by the Vice President, Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS), as part of its ongoing outreach and inclusion initiative.

The specially-abled students were accorded a warm reception by the University authorities before being taken on a guided tour of the campus. The visitors explored the Chrysanthemum Park and the orchards of the Shalimar Campus, where they were briefed on the University’s ongoing horticultural, floricultural, and research activities.

As a key highlight of the programme, the Prof. S.A.Gangoo, Dean Students Welfare, delivered a detailed lecture on the employment avenues, training facilities, and support systems available within the University. He reaffirmed SKUAST-K’s commitment to fostering an inclusive academic ecosystem and enhancing access to skill-development and livelihood opportunities.

The Vice President of the Voluntary Medicare Society appreciated SKUAST-K’s sustained efforts toward strengthening institutional support for specially-abled individuals and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration.

The visit concluded with an interactive session in which the students expressed their gratitude for the University’s hospitality and commended the initiative for providing exposure, motivation, and encouragement.
