Srinagar: Police, during a special drive against traffic violations, detained nine (09) teenagers found performing dangerous and life-threatening stunts on the National Highway (NHW) in Ganderbal.
During the action, police also seized five modified motorcycles with concealed rear registration number plates, in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act, a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
He said the apprehended teenagers will be handed over to their families after proper counselling and execution of a good-behaviour bond to ensure that such acts are not repeated in the future.
“J&K Police urge parents to remain vigilant and advise youth to refrain from such unsafe practices that endanger their own lives as well as public safety,” the spokesperson said.
