SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has expressed his heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, who passed away at the age of 82.
In a statement, Dr. Farooq Abdullah conveyed his deepest sympathies, describing Sheikh Abdul Aziz as a towering figure of knowledge, spirituality, and wisdom. “The passing of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh is a great loss to the Muslim Ummah and the world at large. His life was dedicated to upholding the values of Islam, promoting peace, and guiding millions through his immense knowledge and piety,” Dr. Abdullah stated.
He further expressed that the Grand Mufti’s contributions to the Islamic world and his unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and harmony will remain a lasting legacy. “His leadership and teachings will continue to inspire generations to come, and he will be remembered as one of the great scholars of our time,” Dr. Abdullah added.
The JKNC President also extended his condolences to the royal family of Saudi Arabia, the people of the Kingdom, and the entire Muslim world. “My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Sheikh Abdul Aziz, and with all those who were touched by his wisdom and guidance. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and provide strength to his loved ones,” he said.
