Film on Yogi flopped even before its release: Akhilesh Yadav

Must read

LUCKNOW: Taking a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s biopic, released on Friday, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said that the film flopped even before its release.
At a press meet here on Saturday, he asked media persons whether the film’s dialogues were beeped or not.
“Does the film show the withdrawal of the cases, and are the scenes that led to the lawsuits included? It’s unclear whether the bulldozer scene is there. Is there a car overturning scene? Are there any behind-the-scenes dialogues from the Deputy CM?” he asked.
Bollywood film ‘Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi’ was released on Friday. The film is inspired by Shantanu Gupta’s book “The Monk Who Became Chief Minister.”
Targeting the Yogi government, the SP President claimed that there have been massive recruitment scams in the last nine years, and that the government itself is involved in these scams. He also claimed that widespread discrimination is being perpetrated against the PDA family.
Further attacking the Yogi government, Akhilesh demanded that it provide statistics on areas where daughters are most vulnerable and where the highest number of custodial deaths have occurred. He further claimed that since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power, buildings have been constructed on all the ponds in Lucknow.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party was the first to raise the issue of saving the Himalayas. The Himalayas are not being protected, but roads are being built using dynamite.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the Uttar Pradesh government had even received assurance from the Prime Minister to address the problem of stray animals, adding, “Just think what the double-engine government is doing.”
He said the BJP government failed to protect the public from stray animals despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurances. Farmers are troubled by these animals, cow shelters are in poor condition, and even there, cows are not safe. BJP members are embezzling fodder meant for cow shelters, selling milk and dung, and burying cows in pits when they die. The public continues to suffer, yet the government has provided no relief. He added that the condition of cows is no better than that of rivers: despite budget allocations, the state of rivers remains unchanged.
Commenting on the rise in H1B visa rates in the US, he said that the central government’s foreign policy has failed. He added that the government’s economic policy has also failed. He alleged that BJP leaders do not want Indians to go to the US for studies or jobs, but only to use guns. He claimed that relief for H1B visa holders will come only if the BJP government is re-elected.
The SP president said that wild animal attacks on people have increased in several districts of the state. He called the victims to the stage and claimed that he provided them with treatment and financial assistance. Citing Forest Department data, he said that 60 people were killed in wild animal attacks in 2024-25. In the past 14 days, leopards attacked four people, including three children, in Bijnor.
