JMC Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav (IAS) leads development with Green Park, pathways
JAMMU: In a landmark development under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), the long-awaited dream of Jeevan Nagar residents finally took shape today with the initiation of a Green Park and pathway project worth Rs 1.88 crore. The project was approved under the leadership of Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). Prominent social activist Parvinder Singh Happy and senior JMC officials, toured the locality to review the approved layout and interact with local residents.
The Green Park, which includes a walking pathway, has been a decade-long demand of the people of Jeevan Nagar. A large number of residents gathered on the occasion to welcome the initiative and joined the team in reviewing the sanctioned plans. Speaking on the occasion, Parvinder Singh Happy stressed the importance of timely completion of the project and called for removal of encroachments to ensure smooth progress. He explained that tenders will be floated shortly and the new bridge will provide a permanent solution to the chronic issue of waterlogging that has troubled the locality for over a decade. The announcement was met with widespread applause from the residents who expressed hope that the project would end years of damage and inconvenience caused by flooding.
Residents warmly appreciated the continuous efforts of Parvinder Singh Happy for pursuing development works in Jeevan Nagar and ensuring that long-pending demands are being fulfilled.
