SRINAGAR: Senior BJP leader, DDC Member Srinagar and Co-Incharge Minority Morcha, BJP J&K, Er. Aijaz Hussain, has welcomed the historic GST reforms announced by the GST Council, terming them a “festival gift” for the poor, middle class, farmers, MSMEs, women, and youth.
Er. Aijaz Hussain said that the reduction in GST rates on essential commodities, along with exemption on life and health insurance premiums, and tax relief on life-saving medicines, will bring huge relief to the common people.
“Making medical treatment and insurance affordable is a landmark step. These reforms are not only economic measures but also compassionate decisions aimed at safeguarding lives and livelihoods,” he stated.
He added that MSMEs and small traders will also benefit immensely from reduced input costs and simplified GST compliance, which will boost entrepreneurship and create new opportunities for the youth.
Calling the reforms “Next Generation GST Reforms” as described by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Er. Aijaz Hussain said the decision reflects the government’s firm commitment to inclusive growth and social justice.
“These reforms will ease the financial burden on families, empower small businesses, and strengthen our economy. It truly is a festival gift for the people,” he said.
