Srinagar: In view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions and adverse forecasts, the District Magistrate Srinagar on Wednesday issued a weather advisory urging people to avoid venturing close to river Jhelum, its tributaries, flood spill channel and other water bodies.
The advisory asked residents living along the left and right banks of the Jhelum and its tributaries to remain cautious. It said that tourists, local Shikara operators, sand miners and others should not attempt to cross river Jhelum or its tributaries without verifying the prevailing conditions.
