SRINAGAR: Allama Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, President of Karwan-e-Islami International, while addressing a massive gathering at the Faizan-e-Awliya Conference held in Central Jamia Masjid Tangmarg, declared that the Caliphate of Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) stands as an unparalleled and everlasting example of justice, equity, and governance in the history of mankind.
He emphasized that Hazrat Umar’s personality and system of justice form a cornerstone of the Madinan state, and his era remains a radiant chapter in the annals of humanity, offering guidance to people across religious and ideological boundaries. Hami highlighted that upon the acceptance of Islam by Umar (RA), even the celestial beings congratulated the people of earth, as it marked the turning point for Islam’s fearless and open proclamation, elevating its status to new heights.
“The justice of Umar Farooq (RA) is so profound that even non-Muslim thinkers admire and study it, and if such a system were implemented globally, it could eliminate injustice, unrest, and social imbalance,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion of World Anti-Drug Day, Allama Hami expressed deep concern over the alarming rise in drug abuse, warning that its harmful impact is steadily eroding the moral and social fabric of society. He stressed that if urgent steps are not taken, this issue could lead to irreversible damage. He urged government bodies and community institutions to implement effective local-level strategies, pointing out that international policies can only succeed if rooted in grassroots action.
He also mentioned Karwan-e-Islami’s ongoing efforts, including the establishment of spiritual centers across various districts to rehabilitate the youth and guide them toward a life of purpose and spirituality. The conference concluded with a dignified Dastarbandi (turban-tying) ceremony for the graduating Huffaz from Darul Uloom Payamia, followed by the distribution of academic certificates to students.
