Srinagar: In view of soaring temperatures, the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department Monday announced 10-days summer break for colleges of Kashmir division from June-24.
The department said that it has decided to prepone the summer vacation that was earlier slated to be observed from July-15.
Srinagar hit 34.6°C today, with higher humidity levels making the “feels like” temperature closer to 40°C. Nighttime lows in Srinagar reached 20.9°C. Other places like Qazigund recorded 33.4°C , Kokernag 32.6.5°C, Pahalgam 28.6°C, Kupwara: 33.5°C.
