SRINAGAR: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced the commencement of its Term End Examination (TEE) for June 2025, scheduled to begin tomorrow, June 12. The exams will be held across 35 examination centers throughout Kashmir and Ladakh, catering to approximately 38,000 students enrolled in various academic programs.
The examination will be conducted in two sessions daily: the morning session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the evening session from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Students appearing for the exams have already received their Hall Tickets, which are also accessible on the university’s Samarth portal. To appear in the exam, students are required to carry their Hall Ticket along with a valid university-issued identity card; electronic gadgets such as mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the examination halls.
In an effort to facilitate students in remote and border areas, IGNOU’s Regional Centre Srinagar has set up additional examination centers at Government Degree Colleges in Gurez, Uri, Sogam, Qazigund, Dooru, Thindim Kreeri, Langate, and Handwara. An unusual but significant move includes establishing a special center at the Central Jail for inmates taking the exam.
The university’s officials have assured smooth conduct of the exams and are providing assistance through their regional center. For queries or support, students can contact the Regional Centre Srinagar between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. via phone at 0194-3102403 or through email at ex*******************@******ac.in.
Regional Director Dr. A.H. Rizvi highlighted the cooperation received from local authorities, stating, “The local administration and police have been very cooperative in deploying security personnel at examination centers to maintain law and order. Postal authorities have also been supportive by accepting sealed parcels beyond their working hours.” He expressed optimism that the exams would be conducted fairly and smoothly across the Kashmir Division, including the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Dr. Rizvi extended his best wishes to the students, encouraging them to perform to their fullest potential and to use the opportunity to advance their careers and serve the community and nation.
The university has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and peaceful examination process amid ongoing challenges in the region.
