Moulana Hami urges parents to protect youth from substance abuse

Must read

GUND (GANDERBAL): Moulana Dr Ghulam Rasool Hami, Chief Patron of Karwan-e-Islami International, delivered a Friday sermon at the Markazi Hanfia Jamia Masjid Shareef Gund Sonamarg during Friday prayers.
Addressing a large congregation, Hami highlighted the pressing issue of drug abuse, labelling intoxicants as a “cancer” for society.
Hami said the devastating consequences of substance abuse, stating, “All forms of drugs and intoxicating substances are deeply harmful. They contribute to physical deterioration, social breakdown, economic instability, and moral decay.” He stressed that drug addiction can never lead to welfare or prosperity.
He urged parents to take responsibility for safeguarding their children against this menace. Guide the youth towards the path of Islam, and ensure they are protected from the dangers of substance abuse, he advised.
Moulana Hami also intertwined the message of combating societal vices with the love and devotion towards the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a concept central to Islamic faith and practice.
Hami said, “Whoever truly loves the Prophet (PBUH) will protect their soul and body from every harmful substance, for they will see in their heart the light of the Prophet’s guidance.”
He added, “Ishq-e-Rasool is not merely a feeling; it is a transformative force that guides us away from destructive paths and towards a life of purity and moral integrity. If we truly love our beloved Prophet, then we must protect our youth from the poison of drugs, which clouds their hearts and minds.”
The sermon concluded with a heartfelt dua (prayer) for the protection and well-being of all.
