Must read

WASHNGTON: Thousands of protesters in New York, Washington and other parts of the United States rallied on Saturday against President Donald Trump and his policies on deportations, government firings, and wars in Gaza and Ukraine among others.
Media footage showed protesters carrying banners while rallying in front of White House which read “Workers should have the power,” “No kingship,” “Stop arming Israel” and “Due process.”
A few demonstrators shouted slogans in support of migrants deported and those who are in process of getting deported. They expressed solidarity with employees fired by the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and supported universities and educational institutions whose funding has been halted by President Trump.
The demonstrations by thousands of protesters across the United States is also known as “50501”, for “50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement” and it was intended to coincide with the start of America’s Revolutionary War on April 19, 1775 which marks 250 years in 2025.
The nationwide protest against the Trump administration comes two weeks after similar “Hands Off” protests which drew massive crowds.
Some demonstrators also displayed symbols wherein they expressed support to Ukraine and urged President Trump to be more decisive in opposing Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Since Trump took office in January, he, along with billionaire Elon Musk who is leading DOGE, have cut more than 200,000 jobs, shrinking the federal workforce.
