World Health Day: Free medical camp, health card facilitation held for senior citizens at Ahata Waqar Chanapora

SRINAGAR: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir and Prayas Juvenile Aid Centre, observed World Health Day at Ahata Waqar, a day-care and recreational centre for the elderly in Chanapora.
The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Shazia Tabasum, Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority; under the chairmanship of Tasleem Arif, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar; and under the supervision of Sajad Ur Rehman, Sub-Judge/Secretary, DLSA Srinagar.
Key dignitaries and speakers addressed the gathering, underlining the importance of physical and emotional well-being of senior citizens.
Sajad Ur Rehman, Sub-Judge/Secretary, who was the chief guest on the occasion, interacted warmly with the elderly attendees, listened patiently to their concerns, and offered on-the-spot solutions to their grievances—demonstrating the Legal Services Authority’s commitment to accessible justice and schemes available to senior citizens.
Mustafa Nazir, Manager of Prayas Juvenile Aid Centre emphasized the significance of inter-organizational collaboration in creating a support system for vulnerable groups.
A major highlight of the program was the Free Medical Camp, which offered specialized geriatric consultations to cater to the distinct health needs of elderly individuals.
In addition to this, physiotherapy services were provided to support mobility and promote active living among the senior population.
The distribution of Vandana Health Cards added immense value by connecting the attendees to ongoing health benefits, thereby enhancing their access to essential medical services in the long term.
