Srinagar: At least 19 flights at the Srinagar airport were cancelled due to speedy winds, officials said.
Several other flights were delayed, they added.
Strong gusty winds blew in most parts of the Valley over the last 24 hours. At some places, the winds caused damage to buildings and vehicles, officials said.
There were 15 arrivals and 14 departures between 6:30 AM and 7:40 PM today, the officials said.
Last night, heavy gusty winds swept across various parts of Kashmir valley, causing significant damage to vehicles, rooftops, and power infrastructure.
Several areas reported incidents of property damage, while authorities rushed to assess the impact and begin restoration efforts.
Witnesses reported the vehicles were severely damaged as debris fall on them due to the storm. Also, several electric cables were snapped, raising concerns over power disruptions.
Additionally, the electricity supply was affected in multiple areas, with officials working to restore services. In Ganderbal strong winds caused damage to rooftops and outdoor structures.
