IUST to host national seminar on Indian Knowledge System in Digital Learning

AWANTIPORA: The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), is set to organize a Two-Day National Seminar on “Role of the Indian Knowledge System in Promoting Digital Learning and Education” on March 26-27, 2025. Sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), the seminar will bring together leading scholars, researchers, and experts to explore the relevance of India’s rich knowledge traditions in shaping contemporary digital education practices.
The seminar will feature three prominent keynote speakers: Prof. Govind Singh, former Dean Academic Affairs, IIMC Delhi; Prof. Rakesh Vaid, Director, Poonch Campus, University of Jammu; and Mr. Zareef Ahmed Zareef, renowned historian and poet. Their addresses will offer insights into integrating indigenous wisdom with modern digital pedagogy, preserving cultural heritage through online platforms, and promoting inclusive digital learning.
The event will also include paper presentations by researchers from various institutions, focusing on innovative strategies to blend traditional knowledge systems with emerging digital technologies. Through interactive sessions and panel discussions, the seminar aims to foster meaningful dialogue on leveraging India’s intellectual heritage to enhance the accessibility, effectiveness, and inclusivity of digital education.
