NEW DELHI: JioHotstar has concluded the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 with unprecedented success, setting new industry benchmarks for live sports streaming in India. The tournament witnessed a staggering 540.3 crore views, marking a historic high for digital viewership of a global cricketing event.

The final match between India and New Zealand emerged as the highlight of the tournament, garnering a record 124.2 crore views and achieving peak concurrent viewership of 6.12 crore users. The high-octane finale, driven by dramatic moments and a closely fought contest, significantly contributed to the tournament’s overall viewership surge.

Hindi-speaking regions accounted for more than 38% of JioHotstar’s total viewership, with Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Goa, Punjab, and Haryana leading in consumption. Maharashtra recorded the highest viewership, while JioHotstar’s large-screen strategy gained significant traction, achieving over 80% penetration across Wi-Fi-enabled connected TVs.

The India vs Australia clash earlier in the tournament drove the platform’s highest-ever single-day subscription spike since its inception, underlining the growing consumer shift towards digital streaming of live sports.

Throughout the tournament, JioHotstar leveraged technological enhancements to deliver a more immersive and inclusive experience. For the first time in digital ICC history, the tournament was streamed live across 16 unique feeds, including coverage in nine regional languages — English, Hindi, Marathi, Haryanvi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Additionally, the platform introduced four multi-camera feeds, along with accessibility features like Indian Sign Language and Audio Descriptive Commentary, ensuring a more inclusive viewing experience. The MaxView vertical feed, available in both Hindi and English, offered a mobile-first design tailored to enhance content consumption on smartphones.
