Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said the people’s government and not a shadow Cabinet will run affairs of the Jammu and Kashmir.

Shadow Cabinets do not exist anywhere. There is no such precedence. The BJP ran affairs of Jammu and Kashmir and now it is the people’s government that will run the affairs,” Mr. Abdullah said.
National Conference leader Salman Sagar there was no relevance of BJP’s “shadow Cabinet”. “They (BJP) are in the Opposition and should focus on constructive opposition,” Mr. Sagar.
With the Budget Session starting from March 3 in Jammu, NC legislator Tanvir Sadiq asked the Opposition “to hold the government accountable, but not disrupt the House under that pretext”.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Abdullah called on Lieutenant-Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday. An official said they discussed various issues “related to the forthcoming Budget Session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly”.
The Budget Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly will commence on March 3, 2025.
