Srinagar: More than 93000 students wrote their class 12th annual regular examination on Saturday being conducted by JK Board of School Education (BOSE) in soft zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir. As per the official figures, 102298 students across Jammu and Kashmir have registered for class 12th annual regular examination out of which 93586 fall in soft zone areas while 8712 students fall in hard zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
The J&K Board has set up 989 exam centres– 873 in soft zone areas and 116 exam centres in hard zones areas of Jammu and Kashmir for the students of class 12th.
This year, the class 10th to 12th board examinations were scheduled in February month as the government restored the previous November session in schools.
The annual examination for junior classes up to 9th standard was held in November-December month of 2024 while the government announced that the annual board examination for class 10th to 12th will be scheduled from mid-February.
As per the date sheet, the exam for class 12th students in soft zone areas commenced from February 15. For class 10th, the JKBOSE has scheduled the exam of additional and optional subjects for class 10th students as well while the examination for class 11th students will commence from February 18 of this year.
In class 10th, around 114413 students will appear in the exams in soft zones areas in 1313 exam centres. Similarly, in class 11th examination as many as 109137 students will appear in exams in soft zones areas in 1004 examination centres.
