LG, Omar, Others Extend Greetings
Srinagar: Shab-e-Baraat was observed with religious fervour across Kashmir on Thursday night.
A large number of devotees offered nightlong prayers to seek Allah’s blessings and forgiveness during Shab-e-Baraat, observed during the intervening night of 14th and 15th Shaban, the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
The largest gathering was held at Hazratbal where thousands of devotees came to offer special prayers and Daroode-Azkaar.
In addition to this, the devotees also offered special congregational prayers at Buka e Aliya Sultan-ul-Arifeen Sheikh Hamza Maqdoomi (RA), Ziyarat Datagir Sahib (RA), Ziyarat Naqshband Sahib, Ziyarat Kalashpora, Ziyarat Sheikh Nur Ud Din Noorani (RA), Khanqa-e-Muala and other prominent shrines across Kashmir.
On the occasion, religious scholars deliver sermons highlighting the teachings of Islam.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdulla and others extended his greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Baraat.
In a message, the Lieutenant Governor said: “On this sacred occasion of Shab-e-Baraat, I convey my greetings and best wishes to all. The auspicious night provides opportunity to the devotees to seek forgiveness and blessings from the almighty. The holy night reminds us to follow the path of truth, humility, compassion and righteousness. It is also a sacred occasion to reaffirm our responsibility towards the underprivileged sections of the society. I pray for peace, happiness and joy for everyone”.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has extended his warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Barat, the sacred night dedicated to seeking forgiveness, mercy and blessings from Almighty Allah.
In his message, the Chief Minister highlighted the spiritual significance of Shab-e-Barat, emphasizing that it is a night of introspection and prayer when Muslims seek divine pardon and guidance.
He urged people to embrace the spiritual essence of the occasion and pray for the well-being of all humanity.
The Chief Minister also prayed for peace, prosperity and progress to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo also extended her hearty greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Baraat.
In her greetings message, the Minister underlined that this sacred occasion is an opportunity to seek mercy from Almighty Allah and pray for the wellbeing of entire humanity.
The Minister further said that during this holy night of prayers, we should pray for strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, love and amity among the people.
The Minister also prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of entire Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister for Agriculture Production and Rural Development Departments, Javed Ahmad Dar, today extended his hearty greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Shab-i-Barat.
The Minister highlighted the importance of this sacred night observed with prayers and devotion.
He urged people to seek forgiveness, pray for peace and promote harmony among all communities.
“Shab-i-Barat is a night of blessings and mercy. It is a time to reflect, seek forgiveness, and pray for everyone’s well-being,” he said.
He also emphasized unity and kindness, encouraging people to help those in need.
He called upon citizens to pray for the prosperity and progress of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister urged everyone to observe the occasion with sincerity while embracing the true values of Islam.
