GANDERBAL: School of Social Sciences and the School of Business Studies together celebrated National Unity Day-2024 at varsity’s Green Campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. K. Lakshman, Head Deptt of Politics and Governance (DPG), highlighted the importance of National Unity Day and the significant contributions of the national leaders, particularly the influence of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in establishing the Union of India.
In his address, Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Nikka, Dean Schools of Social Sciences urged the students to recognize and realize the importance of being united in their actions and behavior and stated that divisions of caste, color, religion, and place of birth only teach us how to cooperate with one another. He said that India is known for unity in diversity, and the UT of Jammu and Kashmir has been the best example of mutual tolerance, harmony, and co-existence in view of high and rich cultural ethos.
Dr. Khalid Waseem, Sr. Assistant Prof. DPG, proposed the vote of thanks by reiterating that the idea of unity should be established beyond nation and nationalism.
