HAJIN: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Hajin, in collaboration with Police Station Hajin, organized a seminar on the theme “National Security & the Role of Police”.
The event began with an address by Prof. Dr. Mehraj u Din Parray, Head of the Department of Political Science.
In his inspiring speech, he highlighted the vital role of police in national security, human rights protection, and national development. He emphasized the police force’s self-sacrifice, professionalism, and commitment to enforcing law and order, safeguarding the rights, freedoms, and resources of the nation.
Dr. Parray further noted that national security is essential for citizen safety and national progress, and the role of police in upholding these values is indispensable.
SDPO Hajin, Mr. Rameez Ahmad provided an insightful presentation, sharing his practical experiences on the complex and comprehensive responsibilities of the police in safeguarding the lives, freedoms, and property of citizens. Later, he led students and staff on a tour of the Police Station to give them firsthand insight into the challenging work of the police.
The college principal, Prof. Dr. Gazala Firdous, led a unity pledge with students and staff and delivered a speech underscoring the significant contribution of the police in shaping the nation’s future.
She encouraged students to embrace values of unity, integrity, discipline, and self-service exemplified by the police, which are essential for national progress.
The seminar also featured a student presentation by Mohammad Hussain Wani, a fifth-semester student, who discussed national security challenges and the police’s role in fostering peace and prosperity.
The event was attended by faculty, police officials from Police Station Hajin, and the college’s non-teaching staff. Dr. Firdous Ahmad Paray, NSS Programme Officer, coordinated the seminar.
