Emphasizes unity, community involvement
SRINAGAR: The foundation stone-laying ceremony of the historic Bazar Masjid, led by Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, was organized by Bazm-e-Tawheed Ahlihadees today at Bohri Kadal, with enthusiastic participation from the locals.
The event was graced by several prominent Ulemas, including Bazm-e-Tawheed acting president Dr. Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Jamiat Ahle Hadees president Dr. Abdul Lateef Kindi, Moulana Maqbool Akhrani, Mufti Muhammad Yaqoob Baba, Moulana Ab Qayoom Zadoo, Dr. Ab Majeed Dar, Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, Moulana Lateef Ahmed and others, symbolizing unity and collective religious effort.
In his address, the Mirwaiz appreciated the role of the people and organizers in initiating the mosque’s reconstruction and urged the business community to contribute generously toward the cause. He emphasized the importance of preserving places of worship and fostering cooperation and sectarian unity within society.
The event witnessed a special moment when Moulana Mubarak Mubarki, chairman of Bazm-e-Tawheed, made a brief appearance despite his ill health. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq warmly received him, acknowledging his contributions and dedication to the welfare of the community. Pertinent to mention, the Bazar Masjid was gutted in a devastating fire that engulfed the entire neighborhood on June 24, 2024.
