SRINAGAR: In a bid to promote unity and cultural understanding, the Kulgam Police launched the Bharat Darshan Tour 2023-24, sending off a group of 68 students from Kulgam, accompanied by five caretakers. The week-long tour is organized as part of the Civic Action Programme by the J&K Police, which will cover all boarding, lodging, and travel expenses.
The flag-off ceremony took place at DPL Kulgam, attended by SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal (IPS), ASP Kulgam Tanveer Ahmad (JKPS), DySP DAR Kulgam, and other senior police officials.
During the event, SSP Kulgam interacted with the selected students, emphasizing the tour’s objective: to help them appreciate India’s diversity and togetherness. He encouraged them to seize the opportunity to visit historical sites and cultural landmarks, stating that the initiative aims to expose youth to various tourist spots, industrial units, and significant workplaces across the country. He urged the students to cherish their experiences and create lasting memories.
The tour will include visits to major cities like Delhi and Bangalore, where students will explore various historical sites, monuments, and parks. Comfortable accommodations in AC hotels and transportation in AC coaches have been arranged for their convenience. Each participant will receive a kit containing a customized tracksuit, shoes, socks, a cap, and a carry bag. A guide will accompany the group to provide insights into the significance of the sites visited.
