Man orders iPhone with CoD option on Flipkart, kills delivery agent

NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old Flipkart delivery man was reportedly killed by two persons while attempting to deliver an iPhone in Lucknow. The incident occurred on September 23, 2024 when the delivery man was allegedly killed and dumped into the Indira Canal. When Sahu didn’t return home for two days, his family filed a missing person report at the Chinhat police station on September 25.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh told news agency PTI “On September 23, delivery boy, Bharat Sahu of Nishatganj, went to deliver the phone at his place where he was killed by Gajanan and his accomplice.
After strangulating Sahu, they put his body in a sack and disposed it off in the Indira Canal”.
According to the report, one of the two accused ordered an Apple iPhone worth Rs 1.5 lakh from Walmart-owned Flipkart recently. It was a cash on delivery (CoD) order. When the delivery boy Sahu attempted to deliver the product, he was allegedly killed by the two.
According to the police, the deceased body was dumped into the Indira canal. A team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been called to find it. “The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team is trying to find the body of the victim in the canal,” the officer said. A police complaint was eventually filed by Sahu’s family. During the police investigation, the police found Gajanan’s number and managed to reach his friend named Akash. The DCP officer said that Akash confessed to the crime during the interrogation. Police are yet to find the body.
