J&K people paid huge price for ‘blunders’ of ‘political dynasts’: Dr Andrabi

SRINAGAR: BJP National Executive Member and J&K Waqf Board Chairperson, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, led a roadshow in Shopian on Sunday, alongside party’s candidate Javed Qadri and young party leader Irfan Mahas. The roadshow traveled through various localities in the town, with multiple rallies held along the way where party leaders addressed the public. Javed Qadri, the BJP candidate for Shopian, assured the people that he would work relentlessly to meet the developmental needs of the historic town.

At a gathering near Shopian’s Ghanta Ghar Chowk, Dr Andrabi emphasized the growing public support for BJP’s development-driven governance model across Jammu and Kashmir. She criticized the dynastic politicians who have dominated J&K politics for decades, accusing them of exploiting separatism for personal gain and wealth accumulation while neglecting the needs of the people. Dr. Andrabi said, “Three families ruled J&K like a dynasty-owned business enterprise, using divisive tactics to cling to power.

They are responsible for the bloodshed that has consumed a generation of our youth.” Praising the youth of Kashmir for supporting peace, prosperity, and development, Dr Darakhshan stated that the time for change had come. She argued that the region had paid dearly for the mistakes of past dynastic leaders, but now, with the BJP, there is hope for a better future. She expressed confidence that Shopian would back the BJP, as people are looking for young leaders committed to peace and development. Speaking to the media later, Dr Andrabi highlighted the security and peace in J&K that has allowed elections to take place in areas with large populations, a feat she said was impossible under the previous regimes. She dismissed criticism of BJP’s changes in J&K, calling the critics blind to the realities on the ground.
