Assembly Elections-2024: Dr Karwani appeals migrant voters to cast vote to strengthen democracy

NEW DELHI: Relief Organization, J&K as a part of a series of SVEEP activities, being organized under the guidance of Dr Arvind Karwani, Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), J&K and other officers of the Relief Organization associated with the Assembly Elections-2024, organized Nukad Nataks during the week at various Migrant Camps here.
The Migrant camps where Nukkad Nataks were organized on the topic “Elections – the pivot of democracy” include Jagti, Nagrota, Purkhoo and Muthi.
The camp inmates participated in large number with great enthusiasm. Senior citizens present there highlighted the importance of voting and appealed to all especially the first time young voters to cast their vote in the interest of vibrant democracy.
It was emphasized that casting vote is not just a fundamental right but also a duty towards building a stronger democracy.
It was propagated that every one participate in the festival of democracy by casting his/her vote to elect right representatives of choice, who can plead their cause in the Assembly.
The Relief Organization as part of SVEEP activities is organizing symposiums and poster competitions in migrant schools in the camp areas, besides rallies, tree plantation drive and nukkad nataks etc to promote voter awareness and literacy.
Various doubts and queries of the voters are addressed on spot by the election team. Pertinent to mention that as per the notified scheme for migrants every migrant has option to caste vote in person at the special polling stations as “specified voter” or to cast vote through postal ballot as “notified voter”.

Police Observer Rajpora reviews election preparedness
PULWAMA: Police Observer for Pulwama, Akhilesh Kumar visited various locations within the Rajpora constituency as part of ongoing efforts to ensure a free and fair election.
Kumar visited polling stations at the Government Upper Primary School, Rehmoo, Government Higher Secondary School, Rehmoo and Government Upper Primary School, Kadipora, where he interacted with voters and assured robust arrangements for a secure and transparent electoral process.
Akhilesh Kumar also reviewed security arrangements at several checkpoints (nakkas) in the area and held discussions with personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF) on area domination and other security measures.
These efforts are part of the comprehensive security framework being implemented ahead of the upcoming Assembly Elections in Jammu & Kashmir.

SHGs, locals participate in SVEEP prog in Pulwama
PULWAMA: In an ongoing effort to strengthen voter awareness and promote community engagement in the democratic process, members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and local communities from Aripal Cluster Level Federation (CLF) and Shaheen CLF actively participated in the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) program in Pulwama on Saturday.
The program focused on fostering a deeper understanding of the electoral process among the local populace, with a special emphasis on encouraging every eligible citizen to participate in the upcoming elections.
The active involvement of these groups highlights the significant role of community-based organizations in supporting voter education initiatives and promoting inclusive participation.
This initiative endeavours to educate the masses of Pulwama regarding the electoral process thus empowering every segment of society to contribute to the democratic process.
