SRINAGAR: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar on Thursday announced that Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, after a gap of five years because of his house arrest, will follow the age-old tradition of Mirwaizeen and will deliver a sermon at the historic Astaan Aaliya Naqshband Sahib (RA) on the occasion of Khwaja Digar on the 3rd of Rabi’ al-Awwal, corresponding to Sunday, 8th September 2024.
The Auqaf in a statement said that with the arrival of the blessed month of Rabi’ al-Awwal and in connection with the birth and prophethood of the Last Messenger, Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (Peace Be Upon Him), several Seerat gatherings, seminars and events are being organised under the auspices of the Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar, Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam and Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulama Jammu & Kashmir.
These events aim to highlight various golden aspects of the Seerat-un-Nabi (SAW), focus on character-building and social reform and spread the messages of Islam, humanity, unity, service to God’s creation and the unity of the Ummah, the statement said.
Prominent scholars, including the Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, will shed light on the multidimensional teachings of the Seerat-un-Nabi (SAW) and work towards awakening the Kashmiri community to adopt the exemplary life of the Prophet (SAW).
