SRINAGAR: Principal Secretary Shailendra Kumar held a comprehensive review meeting on Wednesday at the Agriculture Complex, Lalmandi here. The meeting brought together directors, joint directors, provincial heads, scheme heads, and sectoral officers from the Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, and Fisheries departments.
The review focused on physical and financial achievements under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP), CAPEX, and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). Attendees included the Mission Director HADP, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Horticulture Kashmir, Director General Sericulture, Director CAD, MD JKHPMC, Director Planning SKUAST-K, Director HPM, Joint Directors of Agriculture and allied departments, district officers, and other relevant officials.
The discussion covered the implementation of various projects under the HADP and detailed reviews of centrally sponsored schemes such as RKVY, MIDH, ATMA, NFSM, PM-KISAN, PMFBY, Soil Health Card Scheme, and KCC Scheme.
Principal Secretary Kumar emphasized the need for timely and effective expenditure of funds allocated under HADP, CAPEX, and CSS projects. He stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in financial management and urged officers to ensure that funds are utilized efficiently.
He also directed the officers to actively engage with farmers, making them aware of HADP initiatives and promoting the adoption of modern, farmer-friendly technologies in agriculture, horticulture, and allied sectors. Kumar encouraged collaboration with farming communities to ensure the successful implementation of projects at the grassroots level.
