SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) on Monday announced the revamp of its state bodies across various states in India. The association has made several new appointments to ensure that the voices of students from Jammu and Kashmir are effectively represented at both regional and national levels.
In Rajasthan, Amir Akbar has been appointed as President, with Kamran Bukhari as Vice President. In Punjab, Faisal Mehraj Pir has taken on the role of President, supported by Taha Mukhtar as Vice President and Inayat Ullah as General Secretary. This team is tasked with providing comprehensive support to the student community in Punjab, focusing on their academic and personal development.
In Maharashtra, Shahid Aijaz has been named Coordinator. He will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the representation and support of students within the state.
In the Kashmir region, a team of coordinators has been appointed to oversee various institutions and areas. Rohool Banka, Suhail Farooq, Syed Zafar Kamili, and Shahid Peer will serve as Coordinators, focusing on regional student issues. Shahid Ul Islam has been appointed as Coordinator for private law colleges, Nargis Altaf for Kashmir Law College, and Aamir Hassan for Islamia College of Science and Commerce.
Ummar Jamal, National President of the J&K Students Association, congratulated the new appointees and urged them to prioritize the welfare, safety, and security of students. He encouraged them to build strong teams and work towards increasing membership in their respective regions, emphasizing the importance of their roles in supporting the student community.
These new appointments are expected to infuse fresh energy into the Association, revitalizing its efforts and strengthening its commitment to supporting the student community. The heads of the state bodies will work closely with the Central Working Committee (CWC) of JKSA to resolve issues and advocate for the needs of students, Jamal added.
