IUST to hold Convocation on July 25

AWANTIPORA: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is set to host its third Convocation on July 25, 2024, at the university campus, Awantipora. The convocation shall see about 1100 graduating students being conferred with degrees including twenty-seven gold medallists, 53 merit holders – 2nd and 3rd positions and 19 doctorates. Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor J&K and Chancellor, IUST shall preside over the convocation function.
On this occasion, Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor IUST shall present the University report, while Prof. Anil Kakodkar, shall be the Chief Guest and deliver the Convocation address. Sh. R.R. Bhatnagar, Advisor to LG J&K and Prof. Dinesh Singh, Vice Chairman J&K Higher Education Commission will be the Guests of Honour.
Prof. Kakodkar is a distinguished nuclear scientist renowned for his significant contributions to India’s atomic energy program. Recipient of the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan awards, Prof Kakodkar has held important positions including Director of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, and Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Atomic Energy.

Convocation is a significant event to honor our graduates who are ready to embark on the next phase of their lives. IUST has shown remarkable progress over the years, emerging as an important centre of learning in J&K. The university is dedicated to quality education, fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and strong values among its students,” said Professor Romshoo.
