Youth dies, woman injured in road accident near Awantipora

AWANTIPORA: In a tragic road accident during the night, a young man lost his life and his sister sustained injuries in the Barsoo area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police officials confirmed to Kashmir Reader that the accident involved a load carrier bearing registration number JK13H-5253. The vehicle met with an accident near Barsoo, resulting in the death of Aqib Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, a resident of Noorpora Awantipora. His sister, Afroza, wife of Fayaz Ahmad Ganie from Tral, was injured in the accident. She was promptly transported to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment.
The Awantipora police have registered a case and taken cognizance of the incident. According to locals, the vehicle was driven by a relative of the deceased. Aqib was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard on Sunday, with hundreds of people attending the Nimaz Jinaza.
