KCCI, GJEPC hold interaction to foster cooperation in gem & jewellery sector

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC) on Thursday held an interactive session here, where they discussed matters of mutual interest and explored opportunities for cooperation in the gem and jewellery sector.
Led by KCCI President Javed Ahmad Tenga, the KCCI team engaged with GJEPC Chairman Vipul Shah and his governing body members to discuss the development of the gem and jewellery sector, skill development initiatives, and participation of Kashmir-based jewellers in GJEPC-organized exhibitions and fairs, the chamber said in a press release issued here.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for KCCI to showcase the unique treasure of World-Famous Blue Sapphire found in the high-altitude mines of Bhaderwah-Kishtwar area. The GJEPC responded by offering free space for participation to Kashmiri jewellers in their upcoming exhibitions, which KCCI accepted with gratitude.
The GJEPC presented on their national and international activities, skill development institutes, precious and semi-precious stones, and offered scholarships/concessional admission in various courses across the country. The Chairman GJEPC thanked KCCI for the opportunity to meet, while KCCI President expressed appreciation for the multiple offers made by the Chairman GJEPC.
Other attendees included Senior Vice President Ashaq Shangloo, Secretary General Faiz Bakshi, and Past President Zahoor Ahmad Trambo. The meeting marked a significant step forward in fostering cooperation between KCCI and GJEPC, paving the way for future collaborations and opportunities for Kashmir’s gem and jewellery industry.
